Grindelwald: Grindelwald is a ski resort in the Bernese Oberland, known for its cosmopolitan mix of hotels, restaurants, discos and bars. It is a popular base camp for the nearby skiing and trekking slopes of Kleine Scheidegg Männlichen and First. From Gindelwald you can travel to the resorts of Wengen and Mürren by cable car or cogwheel railway.

Numerous cable cars and ski lifts transport tourists to the nearby ski resorts of La Tzoumaz, Veysonnaz and Versonnaz. Verbier is popular with expert skiers who relish the challenges of its steep ski slopes.
Zermatt: Located on a high plateau, with a view of the Matterhorn, Zermatt is known for its traffic-free ambience and for its traditional Swiss chalets. You can travel to Zermatt on the cogwheel railway from the valley beneath. From Zermatt many cog railways, cable cars and ski lifts, transport skiers to nearby ski slopes on Rothorn, Stockhorn, Riffelberg, Trockner Steg, and Testa Grigia.
Arosa: A modern ski resort, popular with young skiers, Arosa is an isolated resort in Eastern Switzerland. With a serene ambience and stunning Alpine landscape, Arosa is ideal for nature lovers and ski enthusiasts. Less expensive than St Moritz, Arosa has ski slopes for beginners, intermediate skiers and experts.
Davos: The getaway of the rich and famous and the site of an annual conference where the world's business and political leaders meet, Davos has many bars, discos, restaurants and hotels. Davos is also a great skiing venue, with slopes for skiers of all levels. One of its tough ski runs for expert skiers descends from Weissfluhgipfel at 2,799m (9,330 ft.) to Küblis at 801m (2,670 ft.). Adjacent to Davos is the exclusive ski resort of Klosters.
Klosters: Klosters is known for being the ski resort of choice of many international celebrities. Named for a 13th-century cloister, which was located here, Klosters is a cozier and more exclusive resort than the larger town of Davos nearby. The ski slopes nearby are the snowfields of the Madrisa and the Gotschna-Parsenn. There are many ski lifts and cable cars that carry skiers up to the snowy heights of the ski zones.
St. Moritz: The leading holiday resort and skiing venue in Eastern Switzerland, St. Moritz has a clearly Austrian flavor. It is known for its ski slopes, scenic cable car rides and planetarium. Some of the nearby ski slopes are at Corviglia, Sils Maria (Corvatsch) and Pontresina (Diavolezza). There are many ski trails for skiers of varying levels, around the lake at St Moritz.
