Wines of Valais

Wines of Neuchatel

Valais - White Wines

Valais, the popular wine producing region of Switzerland has numerous specialties of white wines (both dry and sweet).  The Amigne and Petite Arvine are some of its unique local varieties. The expansion of quality-controlled late-harvest wines, under the label “Grain noble confidentiel” is especially remarkable here. These superb wines are vinified exclusively from grapes is features as over-ripened - botrytised or fletri. The Popular Fendant plays the vital role in case of whites whereas Johannisberg occupies the second position with 4% of cultivation.

Valais - Red Wines

Valais provides the utmost range of fine Swiss red wines. The Gamay and Pinot Noir often mingled as Dole and sometimes are vinified as rose (Oeil-de-Perdrix, only from Pinot Noir). Other outstanding red wines are cultivated as straight varietals. Classic grapes (Syrah), local varieties (Humagne Rouge and Cornalin) also include its popular varieties.
