The Chardonnay and the Pinot Gris are highly liked grape variety of the region and also mostly approved. Although the Chasselas is predominant in the region, one can find the Riesling grape, the Gewurztraminer and the Muller-Thurgau (Riesling-Sylvaner). The excellent sparkling wines, vinified according to the rule book, are worth mentioning grape variety of the zone.

Neuchatel and three lakes region - Red Wines
The Pinot Noir is the brilliant red grape varieties prominently cultivated in the region. This region is also known for providing well-structured and highly-distinguished wines and extremely liked. It becomes stronger, more powerful and more complex after some years of ageing. The color of Oeil de Perdrix reminds that of the partridge's eye (A French name). It’s an aromatic and fruity rose produced from the Pinot Noir grape. This particular variety is the ultimate invention of the Neuchatel’s area and was later created and imitated by other Swiss wine-producing regions.
