Vaud - White Wines
Excellent Chasselas wines are the reason behind the reputation of Vaud as the second largest wine producing zone in Switzerland. Its deftly nuanced bouquets are popular for its complex soils anecdotal from one vineyard to another. Chasselas is the most common grape variety in Vaud and thus offers almost 63% of its total production. However, Sylvaner, the Chardonnay, the Pinot Gris and the Pinot Blanc are popular white wines grape varieties of Vaud.
Vaud - Red Wines
The Gamay and the Pinot Noir Vaud’s are the red wines variety essentially popular in Switzerland. These two grape varieties are often vinified together and sometimes as roses (Œil-de-Perdrix and Rosé de Gamay). The Syrah and the Merlot grape are accountable in producing the majestic red wine of Vaud which mainly found, although in moderate quantities.
