Ticino Wines

Ticino - White Wines
Ticino a mind blowing spot of Switzerland is known for its extra ordinary red and white wines. While some white wines are manufactured from Chasselas, Sauvignon, Semillon and Chardonnay. These are often blended, whereas less than 2% of vineyards grow white ranges. A white wine is Merlot Bianco, the rising star of Ticino. Produced by soft-pressing red Merlot grapes (not the white Merlot Blanc), this marvelous variety gives a drowsy tinge to your tour. It is an elegant, bright straw-colored wine; ageing in new oak barrels. These white wines of Ticino are making the producers and winemakers genuinely proud.

Ticino - Red Wines
Covering over 85% of the vineyards of Ticino, Merlot is the absolute king of Switzerland. Ticino's rich garnet-red Merlot has a bunch of black cherries or red berries, which is agreeably sinuous on the palette with little acidity. Today a large number of experiments are having with Cabernet Sauvignon and Gamaret. Abundant of Pinot Noir are cultivated in higher regions i.e. more than 500 meters above.
