Climate Soils
Ticino's climate is not exactly Mediterranean and hence tremendously influenced by sea. The spot offers a totally different climate and temperature in comparison with rest of the places of Switzerland. The frequent rainfall of the place (although a blessing on one hand) can be a bit dangerous, as it bears greater risk of hailstorms. Thus gripe growers are used to defend their harvest with special anti-hail nets. The high average temperature and impressive number of hours of sunshine is suitable in case of complete ripening of the grapes.
