At the emerging period of wine making, this company Rene Favre ET Fils barely scraped a living and had to find another doings to survive in the callous living conditions of the Alps. It became too customary for the young daughters of the family to go up to Zermatt on foot to perform during the tourist season, at the beginning of the twentieth century.

The last cows diminished from this land of Switzerland in 1962 and the vineyards were expanded the fruit orchards encroached on their regions. Jean-Charles, The first of the next generation, went as per his father’s footsteps to the agricultural school of Chateuneuf. He stood prominently as one of the new wave of young people trained in oenology and viticulture at the ecole superieure de Changins. Rene’s grandson, Jonathan, is now significantly working at the footsteps of his uncle Jean-Charles, who has started at the School of Agriculture.
