The Provins co-operative came in operation after a constant search for quality wine in Switzerland. Provins co-operative is better known as one of the pillars and jewels of winegrowing in the regions of Valais. Consisting of some 1200 hectares of vines, the Provins manufactures wine from almost a quarter of the grapes grown in the «Vieux-Pays». Located between Sierre and the Lake Leman (Geneva Lake), Provins co-operative today have more than 5000 wine growers. Instead of producing this huge scale of production, the co-operative constantly comes up with their majestic quality. This is the only wine growing industry of Switzerland offering quality and quantity at the same time.
The chosen grapes here are matched with the characteristics of each vineyard, known for eco friendly growing methods. Everything is intended to harvest a grape of accomplished ripeness. In the context of international competitions, the wine plays a pre-dominant role. World production continues to grow and competition is very tough to sustain in this vast arena of wine growing industry. Today, Provins has gained a position itself among the best and thus acquired many gold medals. The company is regularly awarded both in Switzerland and abroad in competitions placed under the patronage of the International Wine Office, and whose juries are made up of specialist from all the winegrowing zones of the planet.
