Gialdi Vini SA was created by Guglielmo Gialdi-the father of the present executive director Feliciano in Mendrisio, Switzerland in 1953. In 1980, the direction and operation of the company was handed over to Guglielmo son. Gialdi Vini SA is synonymous to quality wines and thus established a status of the summit of Ticino winemaking. The company was basically devoted to its endeavor of wine import business. Fascinated with the effort of producing wines from the local Ticino, Feliciano obtained Roberti Foc SA of Bodio, a wine grower that had an effective relationship with a significant range of producers of the region as Tre Valli (Bassa Leventina, Riviera and Blenio) in the Sopraceneri.
Feliciano has done prime investments to improve the cellars and progress the vinification equipment. In the course of the following years, Gialdi Vini SA Company was able to create rapid growth through the possession with different other wine merchants and importers. The initial yearly production of 30’000 kilos has increased to 400’000 kilos, after the association with an ever-increasing number of winegrowers in the zones. Day by day, the Gialdi Vini SA has emerged into an independent winery with its own wines. In the year 2000, Gialdi Vini SA has undergone winery’s commitment with the original winery in Mendrisio, engorged in order to allow the vinification of further 250’000 kilos of grapes from the neighboring Sottoceneri areas. All these mind blowing wines can be sold from the winery in Mendrisio as well as in our subsidiary in Bodio.
