Riesling x Sylvaner (Muller-Thurgau) is the only white grape range cultivated in the Eastern Switzerland. The ancient variety Rauschling, grown around the Lake Zurich, is counted among some grand specialities of the region. It offers a dry and juicy white wine, which is extremely alluring and tempting. The wines from Pinot Gris (Rulander) are rich, robust aromatic and spicy Gewurztraminer, widely liked and majestically preferred. Completer is the name of an indigenous variety found in Graubunden.
Eastern Switzerland - Red Wines
The Eastern Switzerland Red Wines are manufactured in an awe-inspiring range from Pinot Noir and also a range from light and juicy to full-bodied and tannic. Some recently improved assortments like Gamaret are also being tested. A little amount of Pinot Noir is protected for the manufacturing of "Sussdruck" (literally, sweet pressing) rose wines.
