Cave Du Chateau De Glerolles

Cave Du Chateau De Glerolles

The Chateau de Glerolles vineyards are located in the Saint-Saphorin label in Lavaux. Switzerland is widely popular as one of the awe-inspiring wine producing regions of the world. The Chateau de Glerolles is celebrated for producing the Chasselas, Pinot noir, Humagne rouge grape variety. Its wines are planted in terrasses, consolidated with large walls warmed by the sun. Gewurtzraminer, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and several other new grapes has festooned the place. These constructions represent their heat as well as the light reflected by the lake (like 3 suns) is renowned for creating a remarkable climate for an excellent maturation of the grapes.

Consequently, the vine of the zone is tightly connected to the steep side of the hill, must be harvested by hand. No machine is used in its production on this ground. The vine has to go very deep down to reach water and the noblest elements, in these dry soils as it allows in its growing. In order to create an open-air model in the domain of wine producing, the predecessors have shaped magnificent scenery. Thus the grapes get the most racy and concentrated tastes and affluent aromas typical of this region. Planetes, Chapponnaires, les Fosses, Gotterause or Boureche are the names of balconies placed not far from the castle, also cultivated in the same way as the terrasses.
