Maienfeld
Maienfeld, in Graubünden region of Switzerland is not only famous for its great wine but also for Heidi – Johanna Spyri’s famous book and an equally famous toon and movie character. A route called the Heidi trail leads to the Heididorf – Heidi’s village. The village has Heidi’s original home called Heidihaus which is now a museum.

The theme of Heidi's Village is "Heidi: yesterday - today - tomorrow”. A must visit place for all children and adults who are fans of Heidi.

The Heidi Fountain inaugurated in 1953 to commemorate the author is situated on the road to St. Luzisteig.

In Heidi's Village visitors can enjoy:
> Visits and tours of the original Heidihaus.
> Petting zoo – where one can see and touch goats and other alpine antelopes
> A souvenir shop where Heidi and Peter souvenirs can be purchased
> A Post office which has its own special Heididorf cancellation mark, highly valued by Heidi fans and stamp collectors.

How to get there
by car: Motorway A13 direction San Bernardino, exit Maienfeld. Parking spaces is available in the village.

By train: Zurich-Sargans-Maienfeld

Heidi’s house is open from March till November daily from 10 am to 5 pm
