The Strada Alta: a voyage of discovery in the Leventina

The Strada Alta, at an altitude of 1000m runs along the eastern flank of the Valle Leventina from Airolo on the Gotthardpass to Biasca. This popular 45 km long panorama takes the wanderer along an unforgettable route through some of the regions loveliest villages. You can select individual sections for shorter walks. The route connects the mountainous region with the southern climes of Canton Ticino. The Ticino mountain landscape makes a memorable impact with its charming reserved dignity of the people of Leventina its untouched natural scenery which is without traffic, haste and luxury hotels.
