How to reach
By car : Car is a convenient way to reach the Grand Caricaie. Follow the signs marked “Centre Pro Natura”. Car parking is also available for visitors.
By train : By train make your way to Yverdon-les-Bains. Take bus line 1 in the direction of “Cessnov” to “Pré du Châtaignier” and walk for 5 minutes to reach The Grand Caricaie while following the signposts.
Champ : Pittet is situated in the finest marsh area of Switzerland on the edge of Neuchâtel Lake near Yverdon-les-Bains. This is a natural site of great importance both nationally and internationally. Between the flooded forests and woodland ponds, humid meadows and gluey alder plantations grows in the mosaic pattern on the 40 hectares, is the Champ-Pittet estate. It is here in the heart of Grand Caricaie one can have an easy access to the largest lakeside marsh in Switzerland. Champ-Pittet estate is a home to nearly 200 bird species out of which 70 breed on site. The site remains open from April to October from Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays.
