How to reach
By Car : Take a car from Porrentury, follow signs for Besancon, then tourist signs for "Grottes de Reclere / Prehisto-Parc".
Discovered in the year 1886 The Réclère Grottos were immediately made such an impact on the first visitors that the caves were being used as a major tourist attraction from 1890. The caves can be explored with the help of guides. The 1.5 km path is adorned with beautiful conical pillars and stalactites along with elegant pagoda and dome with there impressive dimensions which leave the visitors spell bound. It creates a sense of respect and admiration for what the nature has created over thousands of years. Next to Grottos is a 2 km long Prehisto-Parc. This cultural and educational path takes you through a magnificent wood and demonstrates the evolution of life and other fantastic animals that have lived on this planet. You can enjoy a visit to these Grottos from March to 1 December from 10 am to 12 pm and from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
