Natural History Museum run by the Community of Burghers of Berne can not fail to amaze its visitors. The museum is internationally known for its largest diorama displays in Europe, showcasing Swiss and foreign birds and mammals in their natural surroundings. The museum also houses an important collection of minerals and rock crystals the magnificent finds from the Alps. In addition the Museum offers a good repository of educational collections on subjects like zoology and geology. The museum hosts special exhibitions and guided tours informing the public about the new aspects in natural history. A part of the exhibition is devoted to the famous "Barry", the Saint Bernard dog. The museum remains open through out the week at different timings.
