By train : The museum is 5 minutes on foot from St. Gallen train station.
By car : Take a car and exit at Kreuzbleiche, Zentrum. The car parking space is also available.
St. Gallen embroidery has made the city famous far beyond its borders. The museum is filled with an array of pieces illustrating the art of weaving. The museum has a rich collection of embroideries from 14th to 20th century, exquisite handmade lace from European lace centers from the 15th to 20th century, pattern clothes, and Egyptian textiles from grave sites of the Coptic period, machine embroideries of 19th and 20th century from eastern Switzerland. The museum provides interesting and constantly changing exhibitions, a rich collection of sample books from this period to entertain the visitors. The museum remains opened from Monday to Saturday from 10 to12 am and 2 to 5 pm and on Sundays from 10 to 5 pm.
