The Klein Matterhorn is the highest point in the Zermatt-Cervinia Ski area of the Switzerland and is the end point of the cable car in Europe. The height of Matterhorn is about 4,478 m and is fondly called as “Horu” by the locals. It is one of the famous peaks in Switzerland and the Alps. It offers a great challenge to the mountaineers across the world as climbing on this famous peak is extremely difficult and dangerous. Mountaineering is recommended only for skilled mountaineers accompanied by a local guide. The Klein Matterhorn offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Theodul Glacier where one can ski even during the summers and the highest glacier grottowhich is at a height of 3820 m. The best time to climb Matterhorn is from mid July to mid September.
