The valley rises by 3000 m and covers 1/5 of the total area of Ticino. It is one of the largest valleys in Ticino which is criss- crossed by a network of 800 km, dotted with small picturesque villages with traditional stone houses with rich flora and fauna passed nearly 40 mountain lakes.
