How to Reach
By Bus : Take bus line 3 from the station in the direction of Bellevaux and alight at Motte. Follow the signposts to reach Lausanne. Or alternatively, from Place Saint-Francois in the town centre, take bus line 16 in the direction of La Clochatte and alight at Hermitage.
By Car : Take the Lausanne bypass motorway, and exit at Vennes-Hôpitaux. Drive towards the town centre. Drive across the Bois de Sauvabelin. Follow the beautiful signposted path to the Hermitage on foot. It take just 6 to 7 minutes to reach Hermitage.
The Hermitage Foundation is dedicated to temporary Fine Art exhibitions not to be missed by pictorial art lovers. Set in magnificent, natural parkland above Lausanne, the site offers a beautiful view of the Cathedral and Lake Geneva. The foundation boasts a beautiful collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings and engravings not only by the local artists such as Bocion, Domenjoz, Vallotton but also from the artists of foreign origin like Sisley, Magritte, Oudot and Plazzotta. These collections are not on permanent display. The foundation organizes two or three much anticipated, internationally recognized exhibitions every year. Due to all its efforts, The Hermitage Foundation has become a not to be missed cultural destination. The museum remained open through out the year from Tuesday to Sunday.
