The church of St.Martin is listed as a Swiss cultuural heritage site and holds national significance.The painted ceiling comprising of 153 panels , added in the 12th century, is the oldest late Romanesque piece in Western Europe.The panels are preserved in excellent conditons.
The museum provides a deeper insight into the cultural art ans history of the era.
How to get there:
Driving route: take motorway A13 San Bernardino, exit Andeer/Zillis.
By train and post bus: a train connection to Thusis and further by post bus to Zillis.
Opening hours:
The church opens daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
The exhibition is open from April to October ,from 9 am to 11:30 am in the morning and in the afternoon from 1 pm to 5 pm.
