The castle of Wildegg is one of the exhibit sites of the Swiss National museum. The magnificient Castle, the grand interiors,spectacular outbuildings and gracefull gardens bear evidence from the 17th to the 19th Century.
The castle displays an array of well preserved original furniture and decorations from the past. The magnificient living rooms and chambers from the 17th through 19th century, displaying an extensive selection of articles that gives an insight to the life and culture of the von Effinger family. The castle was a property of the Von Effinger family from 1483 till 1912.The last owner from the family – Julie Von Effinger handed over the castle to the Swiss National Museum.

How to get there:
By train: the train route is as from Wildegg (line Zürich - Brugg - Aarau) or Lenzburg (line Zürich - Lenzburg - Aarau).
Follow the marked footpath, from the station Wildegg.
Take local bus up to the castle, from the station in Lenzburg:
By car: The bus route - motorway N1, exit Lenzburg and via Niederlenz-Wildegg up to the castle.
