Take the Bus 36, Once you reach Place Neuve, walk in the direction of the Old Town.
At the heart of Geneva's Old town, situated the Barbier-Mueller Museum is dedicated to the Primitive Civilizations. Opened in 1977, the museum boasts over exceptional collections of 7000 items from distant civilizations including art from the tribal and classical antiquity, sculptures, stones, masks, jewels, ritual objects, fabrics and ornaments from Africa, Oceania, Indonesia and America. The main goal of this museum is to preserve study and publish the collection begun by Josef Mueller which is carried by his daughter Monique and son in law Jean Paul Berbier-Mueller. The museum has gained international acclaim through roaming exhibitions, loans to other museums and publication of numerous catalogues and art books. The museum remains opened through out the year from 11.00 to 17.00
