Col des Roches is a mountain pass in Jura Mountains on the border between the cantons of Neuchâtel in Switzerland and France. It connects Le Locle in Switzerland and Morteau in France. There are many places of interest in Neuchâtel Mountains that ensure a total change of scenery. A journey to the center of the earth in the underground mills of Le Col- Des- Roches is quite fascinating one and is a major center of attraction among the visitors. If stream and rivers run slowly above the ground, the hydropower is nearly impossible to harness. The inhabitants of the Valley of Le Locle began to use subterranean streams that are how the cave mills of Col- des- Roches born. It showcase the artistic imagination how the subterranean factory was set up nearly 400 years ago in natural and artificial tunnels and in caves. This cave factory is a major center of attraction and is the only one in Europe. It was restored by volunteers and is open to the public. A museum about the functioning and the role of the mills illustrates the use of hydropower and enable visitors to gain insight into the special character of the Jura.
