The Villars ski resort is located on a natural south-facing balcony and is perched on a height of 1300
meters in the heart of the Vaudoises Alps. One of the main features of this picturesque resort is its mountain railway that goes on a winding journey up the valley from Bex to Bretaye. However, mainly due to its lower altitude and south-facing location, adequate snow cannot be guaranteed at Villars. But now with the introduction of snowmakers the problem has been partially solved.
Villars is a great skiing venue for beginners and intermediates while boarders have two local boarding parks at their disposal. Besides, the glacier has some very good off-piste for advanced skiers and boarders alike. If you get a 'Glacier - Alpes Vaudoises' pass, you will be able to ski on over 500 km of pistes that include the Gstaad and Chateau d'Oex. Moreover the Villars ski resort has a good on site ski school. The mountain restaurants at the Villars resort offer a great dining experience to their guests and if you want to try out the local specialties, the town has many eateries that offer the same. Villars also boasts of several good bars, clubs and other off snow activities to keep its visitors suitably occupied.
Overall, Villars is a nice and relaxed family resort that is a must for families looking for a vacation to remember
