Murren has always been counted among the most popular ski resorts ever since it was developed by the British in the 1920's. Amazing scenic views combined with some good slopes truly make it a place worth visiting. Besides, the Murren ski resort also offers amazing views into Germany, Italy and France that simply captivates everyone.
As for skiing at Murren, it must be noted that it does not offer great facilities for all categories of skiers. However, it is a haven for advanced skiers who simply love swishing through the black runs down from the Schilthorn and the off-piste at Blumental. For more variety, you can also slide across the Lauterbrunnen Valley that provides access to the Wengen and Grindelwald slopes. But it is advisable to indulge in this adventure during the week, as the place gets very crowded during weekends.
Murren is simply a paradise that consists of a picturesque village, wonderful chalets and car free roads. One simply can't get enough of this wonderful ski resort. But those on the lookout for a raging nightlife would be disappointed, as there isn't much in Murren in terms of nightlife. However, weekends do brighten up the place. A non-skier would not find anything to be occupied with during the day but the hotel restaurants are great places to indulge in some delectable food.
You can gain access to the village by train or gondola that greatly complements its Alpine ambience. The revolving restaurant, Piz Gloria (at 2970m) is as good a place as any to enjoy the views. Even if you think that Murren would not be an interesting place, do visit it for its natural beauty that is more than enough to make up for the other deficiencies.
