Switzerland Tours are incomplete without a ride in the Schilthorn Cable Car from Stechelberg to reach Gimmelwald, a less visited spot situated among the meadows. Journey to Schilthorn is worth it, as it will take you through Mürren, snow caped peaks, Schwarzmönch and many other attractive places. The cable car will continue on its way to Brig from Mürren and then reach Schilthorn summit at a height of 2970 meters. After reaching Schilthorn, you can have some refreshments at Piz Gloria revolving restaurant.
A trip to Schilthorn is cheaper than that to the Jungfraujoch. The top terrace of Schilthorn offers enchanting views to the tourists. Eiger, Matter, Mont Blanc and Thun are some of the places you could see from Schilthorn. Fares to reach Schilthorn are also reasonable, currently Fr.85 are charged for a round trip from Stechelberg and Fr.57 from Mürren. Swiss Pass holders can travel free to Mürren and pay only 75% from there and Eurailers usually pay 75% of the fares.
Located at the southern end of the village is the Schilthorn cable-car station and opposite it is Mürrenbahn train station. You will also come across Allmend hubel on your way between Schilthorn and Mürren. From Allmend hubel, the hiking trails connect to the beautiful Blumen Valley and other trails led to Marchegg and Saus Valley. Get to know more about Schilthorn during Switzerland Tours.
