Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa Interlaken dates back to 1856, when Edward Ruchti purchased the property and renovated it. The Victoria Hotel opened its doors to guests for the first time in 1865. Later, the adjoining Hotel Jungfrau property was also taken over by Ruchti, and Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa came into existence.
The hotel has hosted many illustrious people in its 150-year-old history, including the Swiss Army Chief of Staff, General Henry Guisan, in the 1930s. The Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa continued its story of excellence and service, and was named the "Hotel of the Year" by the Gault Millau.

The Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa accommodation includes double rooms, junior suites, duplex suites and the tower suites. None of the rooms have the same décor. Some of the rooms look out on the Jungfrau Peak. The junior suites have separate seating area and silk upholstery. The Bel Air Suites, with wooden floors and large windows, have a balcony. The Duplex Suites have separate living room and bedroom.
